Where the Crawdads Sing

I found this book on Audiobook, and the 197,560 ratings and reviews, is what first got my attention. As hard as it was for me to get past the first couple of pages of this book (about four passes), when I finally decided to commit…it was well worth it.
Before the story begins, we are given a little teaser about an event that occurs in 1969 where a dead body is found in the swamp water deep inside the marsh on the coast of North Carolina.
The story, then, goes back to some time in the 1950s where you will meet six year old Kya who is poor and clueless to how here life is about to change.
This story is heartwarming; however, it will also tug at your heartstrings. Once I was drawn in, I couldn’t put it down. The story is so deep, so well-told, and a “visual” experience from beginning to end.
